Turner’s Cut Steakhouse….Ben Berg’s Newest Dining Experience Like No Other

A Gilded Age Experience in our City

The excitement was palpable as Berg Hospitality Group unveiled their newest jewel, Turner’s Cut, in the heart of Houston’s luxurious Autry Park district. Over 150 of Houston’s elite gathered for a night of opulence and culinary delight, previewing this grand steakhouse concept set to open its doors to the public on Friday, June 28.

The evening was a star-studded affair with notable attendees such as Dylan and Jordan Seff, Tom and Lisa Laird, Brittany and Brett Treviño, Kristen Cannon, Washington Ho, Donae and Rob Chramosta, Jill Faucetta-King and Ewing King, Frank Liu, and Rocky Lai. The founder and CEO of Berg Hospitality Group, Benjamin Berg, kicked off the festivities with an intimate speech, sharing his vision for Turner’s Cut.

“I am so excited to celebrate the opening of Turner’s Cut, a project that has been four years in the making. We’ve created a world of extravagance and opulence, where people can come and feel as if they’re living in New York City during The Gilded Age, while eating some of the best food in Houston,” Berg announced.

Guests indulged in an array of decadent tastings, featuring highlights such as truffle and mushroom risotto, kobe tartare, wagyu sliders with smoked garlic aioli and shaved truffle, and gnocchi batonnets with truffle lemon beurre blanc. The centerpiece of the culinary offerings was a five-tier ice sculpture-turned raw bar, dazzling attendees with toro sashimi, king crab, fresh oysters, jumbo shrimp, and lobster, alongside a lavish caviar bar brimming with Kaviari Kristal.

The evening’s cocktail menu was nothing short of spectacular, inspired by the Prohibition era and featuring signature drinks like the Honey Vesper, Midnight Manhattan, Diego’s Fun, and Japanese Apricot Smash. Guests also enjoyed a curated selection of red, white, and sparkling wines.

Dessert was a showstopper, served in one of Turner’s Cut’s exclusive private dining rooms. The sumptuous display included crème fraîche cheesecake, gianduja chocolate tarte, and the Turner’s Cut Opera, an indulgent creation made with Macallan Harmony Collection, espresso buttercream, and almond dacquoise.

Turner’s Cut promises to deliver an unparalleled dining experience, welcoming guests for dinner starting June 28. The restaurant will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 5pm to 10pm, and Friday through Saturday from 5pm to 11pm.

A special bittersweet moment at the Preview Party was the acknowledgement by Ben Berg himself of his soon to be departing Marketing VP, Emily Shuffield Hanley, who he proclaimed had opened ALL of his restaurants with (16, I think he quoted?) All of us that have worked with Emily from start to finish all cheered our well-wishes to the lady that made so many things happen…..good news she is not going away but stepping to the side for some Berg projects and leaving the rest to all of the other very competent gals to take over!
