While at first it might seem a bit strange to talk about colors of the season during a time when we’re not going out as much and we’re certainly not dressing up as much these days, we do feel a tide that is changing and we’re excited to do so because we love talking color, first, as the most important idea of any season. Color makes people happy! Color is an instant mood lifter, and we’re here for that.
This is certainly an interesting time in the fashion world. People aren’t shopping as much for what they might normally shop for this time of year. Swapping gala gowns for a bit more comfortable attire and heels for flats has been a shift taking place, among many other things, and of course fashion week was not like anything we’ve ever experienced…..and that’s for another season going forward and who knows!!?(fingers crossed, though)
We’re going to talk about the colors of the season in a few parts because there are some great ones and we want to cover it all. And we’re going to talk color in the home, as well, because these days lots of us are sprucing up our home since we’re spending infinitely more time in it.
And today we’re starting with olive and spice. Let’s talk about this dynamic duo, both of which are beautiful hues on their own but also together as well.
Spice
If we’re putting two colors together, olive and spice (aka rust…) are perfect. They truly go so well with each other, but spice on its own is picture perfect, and is becoming a stand-out color of the season. Spice brings together browns and tans and hints of orange and red in the most stunning way. It’s also a color that looks fabulous in the home.
Olive Green
We love olive green!! When we think fall, it is one of the first colors that come to mind. It’s deep in tone and coordinates so well with other colors. It takes on a rich look and we love it on different textures as well (think tweed, suede, velvet…). It’s also such a great color in the home, whether alongside wood floors or a neutral backdrop, olive is always a favorite.
LOL! Is that rust I see, being called spice!!! Love it and olive!!!
Yes, that’s it……many feel it to be the #1 color of this season! You may call it rust or even brick, remember that one?? This season is all about Spice, a gourmet’s delight (and everything nice!!!) That color would look great on you!!! xo
Roz. Where would I find the outfit with the woman sitting Sweater and spice pants with LV handbag? Tootsies? Cotton Club.
Really like that
Thanks
