Hey, everyone! Kristen here from, word2thabyrd, and I am so excited to share with you all one of my favorite trends for spring: Pointed Toe Shoes! It wasn’t until I was on my lunch break the other day and I finally had a chance to browse through my e-mails. One Winter sale notification after another, I finally stumbled across Neiman Marcus debuting all of their fun and eclectic pointed toe shoes for spring! I immediately looked down at my “work shoes,” my pointed Cole Haans. I was instantly excited because I felt like I was ahead of the game! Not only are my pointed Cole Haan’s my favorite pair of shoes to wear to work, they make me feel very feminine. I also feel like I can be a bit more feminine with my style in the spring time especially since lighter colors and dresses make its way after the dreary winter season. With all of the exciting styles that I have found, I can’t wait to add a fun pair to my wardrobe when I am going to a party or an event.
So, after doing some research, I have discovered how popular pointed toe shoes are going to be for this upcoming season. I have found a couple different takes on pointed toe shoes and I can’t wait to share them with you!
Last spring, a more rounded toe in mules made its debut into the runway season. This year, mules and slides are definitely sticking around but it seems be all about the pointed to mule! Personally, I love to wear mules to work with black work pants or pair them with jeans or skirts for a casual look on the weekends. This season we are seeing mules in all variations of fabrics and details. Mules in gingham, velvet, pearls, floral prints, and even rhinestones and jewels in ready to wear and off the runway are back this spring season! A lot of street style from Paris fashion week have also been popping up with women in mules with a v shape over the top part of the foot. How stunning are these pointed mules from Proenza Schouler Runway Show? The ruffle detail is stunning on the sling backs with the contrast of a pop of pink!
Not only are pointed toe shoes in style, the variations of heel height and size make the pointed toe shoes even more spectacular! As seen on the runway from designers such as YSL, Mui Mui, Gucci, and Chanel, heels come in all shapes and sizes when it comes to pointed shoes! Block/ wedged heels have been seen on all models and influencers from Fashion Week. According to Who What Wear, Kitten heels have come up as this spring’s most popular search for heel height! So, get ready to channel your inner 2006 fashions via Chiara Ferragni and her recent look from Paris Fashion Week for Sprind 2018.
The heeled boot and bootie are also making a statement this season. Celebrities and fashion enthusiasts everywhere can be seen in this style boot or bootie. From Christian Louboutin’s fishnet booties to all different types of fabrics, heeled booties are very popular this spring! White booties were seen all over last Fall NYFW gearing up for what’s to come for spring 2018. How fun are these white booties paired with this dress and red bag? Or, how awesome would a pair of over the knee boots with a midi skirt to pull off a chic street style look? These are fun styles to wear once the weather gets a little nicer and to pair with items you already have in your new closet – and a few new pairs of shoes!
