On Thursday, April 25, 2019, the Children’s Assessment Center will host its 20th Annual Spirit of Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show at The Post Oak Hotel. This afternoon of food, fashion, and fun for a great cause, will be in celebration of its 20 years. Chairs for this year’s event include Alicia Smith, Erica Bagwell and Phyllis Williams, all dynamic ladies in our community that guarantee a special time.
World champion gymnast and Olympic gold medalist, Aly Raismann will participate in a special keynote conversation moderated by KTRK, ABC 13’s Gina Gaston.
Aly Raisman, was the team captain of the gold medal winning U.S. Olympic Women’s Gymnastics teams in 2012 and 2016 and is the second most decorated American gymnast of all-time with six total Olympic medals. She captured our hearts in 2012 Games when she became the first American gymnast to win gold in the floor exercises. Her list of accomplishments goes on and she has proven to be a leader both on and off the floor. She uses her platform to promote positive body image and encourages everyone to be comfortable and confident in their own skin. In her NY Times best selling memoir, Fierce, she shares the highs and lows of her journey, including her survival of sexual abuse. She continues her advocacy within the sport of gymnastics and efforts to help to eradicate sexual abuse in youth sports.
The Jason Wu collection, produced by Ursaline Hamilton, will be presented by Elizabeth Anthony and include a special appearance by the designer. Immediately following the luncheon, an after party will be held at Elizabeth Anthony where the winner of the raffle for the Jason Wu dress will be selected.

Funds raised from this event will support direct service programs offered by The CAC, such as forensic interviews, medical services, and therapy programs, all of which are critical to the hope and healing of young victims of sexual abuse.
