For those of us that have been around our city and making it to our town’s biggest luncheons, we know that at the top of the list is the always sold-out Salvation Army Luncheon and Fashion Show that is a not-to-be-missed Houston tradition. I was away for the luncheon but I did make it to the accompanying event that I never miss and that is the Chic Boutique where shopping for designer digs at very reduced prices is the name of the game!

The theme of this year’s Chic Boutique luncheon was Eyeing Elegance with 2020 Vision and was chaired by Deborah Dunkum, Maggie Austin and Dodi Willingham. $830,000 was raised for this beloved organization. Certainly adding a new twist for the now necessary, virtual event, the sold-out Chic Boutique Runway Show and Luncheon was held at various homes throughout River Oaks and Tanglewood, allowing for social distancing.

This year’s honoree was Ginger Blanton, who has been a generous supporter and longtime service volunteer to the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, as well as other organizations.

Always accompanying this event is the four day shopping event where each customer that visits gets to have a very special shopping experience choosing from wonderful items from many of the “best closets” in Houston. The Chic Boutique Showroom where as I mentioned above was a place I enjoyed a shopping bonanza, had as its Showroom Chair, Sally Gray and Frances Howard. It’s your chance for designer digs at crazy good prices and all for a great cause. This four-day shopping event, which includes everything from designer jeans to evening gowns to mink coats all at a fraction of the cost, raised more than $900,000 for programs and services of the Salvation Army.

In case you missed it before…..here is a look at the many wonders of the Chic Boutique and the ladies that make it happen…….mark your calendars for next year as a not-to-miss event!!

Donning their finest luncheon attire, while socially distancing, were Pam Sengelmann, Stick Delaup, Jan Duncan, Mary Maxey, Sydney FaustLily Andress and Vicki West to name a few, as well as some of the ladies highlighted below…..
