Jonathan Wills, the 32 year old chef , moved to Houston to open North Italia’s Seventh new Restaurant since they were established by award winner, Sam Fox, in 2002.
Scheduled for an opening date of March 3, North Italia restaurant, is opening in BLVD Place, Phase II, (1700 Post Oak Blvd) just a stones-throw from a restaurant that has taken Houston by storm and a favorite of mine, True Foods. True Foods is also owned by parent company Fox and its owner, award-winning Sam Fox. This is the second North Italia restaurant in Texas with a sister-restaurant in Austin.
North offers a modern take on traditional Italian cooking, featuring handcrafted pasta and pizza made from scratch on the premises daily. It incorporates all fresh ingredients from the garden, farm and sea. My entree of braised short ribs with roasted root vegetables and creamy white polenta was divine, perfect! Everything that I ordered was delish and I particularly enjoyed their meatball appetizer (a true test for any Italian restaurant) and loved their olive oil cake dessert, served with fresh berries.
Also, fitting in with the modernization of the food, there was a great feeling to the restaurant….obviously packed for pre-opening dining, the vibe was great, modern and fun….a place you would want to hang for happy hour (extensive cocktail selection) as well as enjoyable place to dine with friends.
I love True Foods, so I will definitely be checking this place out!
I need to try this restaurant. It’s calling my name. Those meatballs!!
