As someone who has spent the last 30+ years of mine and my families lives attached to the Rice Village, I have been anxiously awaiting the much talked about Politan Row Food Hall that just opened its doors, officially on Saturday, November 9, 2019. I have been to several food halls that have been opening in the Bayou City as this newest foodie dining craze has taken our city and most majors by storm. So I have waited, fork-in-hand, for the nationally acclaimed Politan Group, who own several of these halls around the country, most notable to us, is the St. Roch Hall in NOLA, to make their mark in Houston and in Rice Village.
The Politan Row Food Hall, which I have just visited tonight on Opening Day, was packed with interested food lovers all waiting to try muh of the variety of tastey bites. This a chef-driven food hall platform features a thoughtfully curated mix of local food. Politan, whose goal is to create a destination for the culinary curious, boasts such diverse tastes from emerging local food and beverage talent as Breaking Bao,(fresh from the food truck), Cochinita & Co., KIN, Koshni, Ate Kitchen, Pacha, Sprout, Susu Kopi and Boba. The hall also features, right in the center of the space, Bar Politan, a casually elegant craft cocktail bar that was clearly the hottest seat to get tonight!
“With our hand selected food and beverage partners, we’re excited to create a culinary hub and continue to grow the diverse offerings found in the West University neighborhood,” said Will Donaldson, founder and owner of Politan Group. “Houston’s vibrant culinary community and the historic design aesthetic of Rice Village were our inspiration in creating Politan Row on Times Boulevard,” he added.
Now, a look, from my camera’s eyes only, of our night at Politan Row Food Hall…..
