Looking for a perfect gift for yourself or others? Well, the time is right. When the weather dares to get colder, (finally!) mornings are crispier and the nights are chilly and with the holidays approaching there is a definite desire to snuggle up and be warm, comfy and of course, always, stylish. That is why a major trend for Fall, Knit Dressing, has come into play! Whether we choose any of the knit pieces that we have always loved…..ponchos, sweaters and the most popular look this fall…..sweater dresses and wear them with tights for the cool days or in the case of Texas, the wanna-be cool days! As the weather fluctuates, they can also be worn alone for those days that are not quite as cool.

Whichever way the wind blows or your feelings go, we’re now looking for designs that feel like more of a complete look — whether we add tights, pair these with our go-to Chelsea boots or statement jewelry and heels for a night out. I also love the look of knit dressing partnered with leather as seen above.

Most of these pieces are made of wool or cashmere. Some are cable-knitted or rib-knitted, while some are featured with a flat design. Different textures make different styles.
Generally, they are shaped from thigh-high length to ankle-skimming length. The shorter length dresses worn with tights are more commonly seen than the long dresses, however this being the season of ‘long n lean’ has made that look with a great bootie or tall boot a very chic look. Recently, a sweater dress with a pencil length that ends just at knee is most popular and great for everyday use.

They can be paired with stylish leggings and cool knee-high boots to make a comfy and classic look for this fall. To be more fashionable, a belt at waistline would be cute or add on a nice scarf or crop jacket to split up the dress if it is all one colour. If you are looking for a more risky look then choose a sweater dress with a deep V-neck or even a breath-taking backless one. This fall they have so many styles to pick from!

I’m excited to finally be able to wear my beige Michael Kors dress this fall, I’ll be pairing this with brown ankle boots and a great knitted scarf, perfect for night out on the town. For work I have a very flattering longer navy sweater dress with a high neck I pair with a leather jacket. I always feel comfortable and fashionable when I wear one, but best point about these fabulous dresses is feeling warm! Il certainly be having a look around this weekend for more sweater dress options as there are plenty to chose from, especially stores like H&M, Zara and Banana Republic or for more high street, Tootsies, Neiman Marcus and most designers are into this trend in a big way!
