Neiman Marcus treated the local Houston community this last Thursday to a special Ippolita Trunk Show filled with rare one-of-a-kind pieces. The event also possessed an added personal touch of having the jewelry artist, Ippolita Rostagno, make a personal appearance. I, of course, had a “pretty woman” moment as I oohed and aahhed at every piece in the collection.
The craftsmanship is one of the unique elements to her handmade jewelry collection. Rostagno, created her jewelry line in 1999 through the method of body imprinting. Her artistic method is centered on taking sheets of wax and pressing them onto various parts of her body, creating the feminine softness in her jewelry line.
Her inspiration in creating a jewelry line originated from when she noticed the void in the jewelry industry. Typically, women possessed fine jewelry for celebratory occasions, and then costume jewelry to dress up the day-to-day outfits. However, there was not a quality jewelry line for the everyday, that inspired the feeling of stylish, modern and yet still classic.
The delicacy and detail in the collection is one to covet, and fuel that treat yo-self moment. Be sure to shop her collection at your local Neiman Marcus.
