It’s that time of year! Graduations are in full swing and summer is on the horizon. It can be tricky to find a gift for the graduate, so we have Francene here today giving you some great ideas! Cheers to the Class of 2015!
Searching for the perfect graduation present is not an easy task, whether for a girl or boy. Unless you’re ready with your questions to pick their brains I have looked for a number of great gifts which hopefully will make this process easier for you. This will give you more time to celebrate and enjoy this occasion with your loved ones!
For Her
I’m a huge necklace fan; naturally this was my first pick! I came across these initial necklaces and thought this would be a great gift. It’s personal and stylish.
I found this Baby Pink Pashmina shawl from Shopbop. This is a perfect gift that will be used all year round. I picked a neutral colour as it will go with more of her wardrobe.
Candles are a great gift for any age, you can pick the scent and colour to make it more personal. My favorite brands are Jo Malone and John Lewis, which both have beautiful collections. I always buy the Fairy Dust candle and write in the card to accompany it ‘Spreading fairy dust and luck in your life!’
Whether the graduate is starting a brand new job or continuing their education, journals are fabulous gifts to give! I LOVE this ‘Eat Cake For Breakfast’ pink book by Kate Spade.
For Him
Boys appreciate a more humorous gift, and certainly this is one that made me chuckle. This tray for decoration ‘just got real real fast’ is clever and functional. I’m sure all of us who are well past graduation times, working in the real world with many responsibilities over our heads, will know that it got real pretty damn quickly!
Paperweight for their first job – a good reminder to never give up on your day dream! It’s something nice and inspiring to have on their desk.
Why can’t you accessorize your tie? I think Tie Bars look extremely sophisticated, and they are very hot right now! These are simple which means they will go with a lot more, found from Nordstrom (currently happening: half yearly sale!)
College cuff links personal to them on their next adventure (or if they have just graduated from college then it’s a great keep sake).
Personalized wallets and money clips. I found this money clip from Salvatore Ferragamo.
For Both
Sometimes it’s not all about the glamour gifts you need to keep your eye out for. Trust me, your graduate will appreciate the more practical presents, too.
Many of you share the tradition of gifting luggage for graduation. This is a fantastic idea if they are looking to travel or have trips planned. Make sure you pick up a personalized tag for the bag also!
Cookbooks: Don’t let them use “I don’t know how to cook” as an excuse for fast food three meals a day. I absolutely love all of Jamie Oliver’s recipes; check out any of his books! Combine this with cooking lessons and they will be grateful forever more!
For the more personal presents – all of these are very much what I would like to get! I treasure every single moment, whether it’s taking pictures at every opportunity and framing them all around our apartment or keepsake boxes filled with sentimental items.
You can never go wrong with photo frames. They are simple and you can never own enough of them!
A fun idea is giving them a map where they scratch off where they have been – then they can keep this throughout, adding on their adventures. This can be personalized adding to the gift Jolee’s Boutique® Stickers personalized to their hobbies or trips they have coming up.
Monogrammed gifts are huge right now and limitless whether its money clips, frames, necklaces, pillow cases the monogram life is your oyster! a bientot is the best place to go for that!
Aside from everything mentioned above, you can also find incredible gifts at some of our local favorites: TOOTSIES, Cakewalk Style BB1 Classic, Kuhl-Linscomb, Events, Cotton Club, to name a few…
Hopefully, you’ll find something on this list perfect for your special grad. Enjoy this magical time where their future is just beginning!
