We are just a few weeks away from what is one of my favorite events of the year, Festa Italiana. Unfortunately, I cannot personally make it as ironically, I will be in Italy at that time but it is an event that my family never misses! I encourage you to go and celebrate 41 years of the Houston Italian Festival at the University of St. Thomas!
This year’s festival features: Live music and performances by DJ Italia, The Fab 5, The Shades of Gray Band (classic rock, Blues, Country and Motown style), the Tarantellas Italian Folk dance group, the University of Houston Moores Opera Center, the University of St. Thomas Music and Dance Department, and Vince King (multi-award winning “Elvis Tribute Artist”) but also wine and beer tastings, film screenings, cooking classes for children, Italian language classes, pasta eating contests and grape stomps…and so much more!
Thursday, October 10 – Sunday, October 13, 2019
(Thursday 5pm – 10pm, Friday 11am – 10pm, Saturday 11am – 10pm, & Sunday 11am – 6pm)
Proceeds from the Houston Italian Festival benefit several local non-profits including the ICCC. The Houston Italian Festival is funded in part by grants from the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance.
