Ahhh, Summer is slipping away. Hard to believe that the season of traveling the world or even short weekend trips have been happening and so much more that requires being on your feet all day. All of these activities are why we are SO happy that fashion sneakers have been on the top of the shoe trend list, bigger than ever this summer. What is amazing to me as I have visited European fashion capitals in recent weeks and back here at home visiting local retailers is that this category is even looking bigger for Fall.
What I saw recently when I was working in Europe (Florence, Milan and Paris) is that over there describing Fashion Sneakers as a trend is truly an understatement……it was more like a phenomenon. Retailers at every level from the most high-end to the more modestly priced, all were exploding with this category. The grand fashion streets of these cities’ windows were lined with sneakers in every color, texture or styling……with one being more explosive and over-the-top than the other. Upon entering any of the designer boutiques(Gucci, Prada, Balenciaga, Ferragamo) or shoe departments in high end stores such as Galeries-Lafayette or Bon Marché there were rooms of sneakers, featured front and forward in every case! Mainstream shoe brands such as Nike, Adidas, Vans and more were dominant in stores and on the streets as well.
How did this Mega-Trend get started: Well, first it is obvious that gone are the days that our rubber-soled friends were meant for the gym, and gym only. So whether you are actually upping that summer-bod workout routine, or just want to take your workout footwear to the streets, or even out about town, your feet are covered. We simply cannot get enough of the new innovations sneaker companies keep coming up with.
No matter the event, your shoes are arguably the most important part of your outfit. From glitzed up whites to platforms, patterns, zippers, rainbows of color and everything in between! So lace up those sneakers ladies, it’s shopping time…..and BTW, you should gear up for Fall ahead as well. Dress-it Up
Summer is particularly for many fashion-savvy gals, a great time for dresses. For me, summer dresses are my alternative to wearing shorts…..have you seen my knees??! It’s actually my all-year-long decision to wear dresses (and right now I’m loving midi skirts) and wear them a lot! Always partial to the comfort and style of wearing a dress…..maxi is usually my choice, remember, my knees?! However in Summer there are so many very cute, hip short dresses, as well…….whichever length you prefer I encourage you to wear them for running the streets by day or dining out with friends at night.

As I have mentioned Fashion Sneakers have been designed for every end use from casual accompaniments such as with jeans and shorts to dressier casual looks like skirts and dresses……personally loving maxi skirts and dresses with tennis!
