Last week, The Galleria hosted (along with VOGUE) their biggest event of the year, their Fall Trends Fashion Show. Sadly, Roz and I both couldn’t attend, but Candace Thomas (Blogger behind Luxe with Kids) saved the day. Keep reading for all the details about this most stylish event! Take it away Candace…

Last week I was honored to be one of the lucky ones included in the invitation-only signature fall trends fashion event at The Galleria hosted by VOGUE and presented by Cadillac. I started the evening at Papercity’s private VIP cocktail hour at Versace with some of Houston’s biggest fashionistas including Chris Goins, blogger Carly Lee, fashion illustrator Rongrong Devoe, and hosts Christine Falgout, Morgan Garvey, Melissa Juneau, Kate Dorn and designer Hunter Bell, recently transplanted from NYC.

The runway show, hosted by Vogue Market Stylist, Cara Crowley, and Stylist and Tastemaker to the stars, Micaela Erlanger, left me dreaming for cooler temperatures. The Page Parkes models strutted the runway on the Ice at The Galleria in ready to wear fall fashions full of luxurious fabrics like leather, fur, velvet and heavy knit. The show included looks by Saks Fifth Avenue, Ermenegildo Zegna, Carolina Herrera, John Varvatos, Salvatore Ferragamo and Neiman Marcus while DJ Hannah Bronfman kept the room dancing in their seats.

The trends across designers showcased longer skirt and dress hems for women and the glamorous cape jacket. Saks Fifth Avenue started the show off featuring gorgeous models in fall’s must-have looks ranging from casual to formal. Carolina Herrera’s show was set to dreamy music as the models pranced in rich suede over-the-knee boots, and Neiman Marcus brought a little edge with midriff-baring metallic fabrics, feathers, lace and velvet.

The trend for men’s clothing with a more European (read: tight) fit is going strong, as are the shorter hems for pants and jackets, as shown by the handsome looks by Ermenegildo Zegna. AC/DC’s Thunderstuck rocked the house during John Varvatos’s edgy show, including an updated leather version of the members-only jacket, top hats and peat coats.
