It might be late-summer, but eating outside is certainly the much preferred option for many when it comes to restaurant dining these days. Lucky for all of us Houstonians we have some incredible options when it comes to outdoor / patio dining. Below we’ve rounded up only 20 of our favorites but there are many more. You should check with any of your favorite restaurants, as most, if possible have expanded their outdoor dining and in some cases added it where it has not been before. Along with where to eat we’ve added some tips on what to wear for al fresco dining when it’s almost 100 degrees out because fitted jeans are not going to cut it in the heat! Keep on reading…….reminder: click on the link in red to take you directly to the restaurant website for more details on dining-in or for picking up if dining on your own patio is the option your prefer!
And don’t forget about Houston Restaurant Weeks, as many of these spots are part of it!

Now, in terms of what to wear…
Light, airy, breathable clothing is the name of the game. This isn’t the time for fitted denim or silk blouses. Opt for cotton dresses and tops, nice shorts or flowy skirts, open toed shoes, and don’t forget to bring a hair tie or a scarf to tie back your hair if it’s long……and by all means, even if you can take it off for dining, WEAR YOUR MASK, there are so many options now and it truly has become the must-have accessory of the summer! It’s HOT out there, absolutely but it is amazing the steps that so many restauranteurs have taken to make it cool and pleasant out there, particularly for evening dining. And of course stay hydrated (water between your sips of wine or a favorite cocktail!). Below are links to some local stores who have stylish, breathable pieces, perfect for dining al fresco in the heat of summer!
