Seeing Barbara Tfank’s Fall 2013 Collection was, as always, a beautiful experience. She can always be counted on to show her dresses in a lovely off-site setting, away from the madness of Lincoln Center, this time it was at Chelsea Leila Heller Gallery. Her inspiration for this season was taken from the Matisse painting, “Odalisque,” which would be familiar to all that see it….a young woman in Ottoman red trousers in a room vivid with colorful textiles.
You can always count on viewing the finest custom-milled European fabrics from Barbara, beautifully tailored in classic styling. This season was no exception. The key to her collection, whose two biggest fans include Michelle Obama and Adele, is rich color, luxurious fabrics and timeless, figure flattering and ladylike styling.
The following are some of my favorites from Barbara Tfank, Fall 2013….
Black w/Gold and Black w/Silver brocade slim dresses…
Teal & Gold French Brocade slim dress and Teal & Gold
Seamed Overcoat and Reversed Gold & Teal slim dress…
Persimmon Eyelash Brocade Long sleeve fitted dress and Long Silver Shimmer Back-interest gown…
My personal favorites, the simplicity of these blue & black silk taffeta combinations….my favorite color duo of the season…

I lover her clothes. Who sells her in Houston?
Neiman Marcus and Barney’s are only two stores that I know of. No boutiques in town.
Betty, I just got an update from Barbara on where you can buy her beautiful dresses…..Neiman Marcus Fall 13 is available on Special Order basis and beginning this Spring her collection can be found at Bergdorf Goodman on 6th floor evening area. Barney’s does not carry her collection. Thanks.
How do you pronounce TFANK?
Carol, it is pronounced “T-fonick”. 🙂 thanks for asking I wasn’t sure until I met her here in Houston.
