The highly anticipated neighborhood restaurant, Agnes, is officially opening this Tuesday, June 8 at 2131 Bissonnet on the corner of Shepherd. The all-day restaurant will kickstart with breakfast, lunch, and boutique grocery items followed by dinner later in the month. We have been so excited for this Mediterranean gem to open and cannot wait to check it out!
Agnes was created by childhood friends Molly Voorhees, president of Becks Prime and The Chocolate Bar, and Carolyn Dorros, executive vice president of Wolff Companies. “I love cooking, entertaining, and traveling and, over the past year, have truly missed some of my favorite dishes from around the world,” said Dorros who created all of the recipes on the menu.
The menu is primarily based on flavors from Spain, France, and Turkey. The pastry case will be filled with croissants from Magnol French Baking, homemade cakes, brownies, cookies, and savory scones. The Mediterranean-inspired breakfast and lunch offerings include Baklava Granola, Breakfast Mezze with a 9-minute egg, Stuffed Turkish Flatbread with choice of lamb kofta or spinach and feta, Freekeh Salad with lemon vinaigrette and Black Bean and Beet Burger with tahini ranch on a brioche bun. Agnes will also offer “All Day Plates” where customers can build their own boards with anchovies, mussels, tuna, smoked beet tahini dip, hummus, labneh, selection of daily cheeses, sourdough and butter or house made yogurt flatbread.
The boutique grocery retail portion will be filled with a variety of unique hostess gifts and pantry staples, including hard-to-find wines, meats and cheeses from Houston Dairymaids, specialty infused olive oils, fresh dressings and dips, grab-and-go dishes.
The fine-casual restaurant will be open Tuesdays through Sundays from 7 AM to 3 PM. For more information or the full menu, visit agneshtx.com, @MissAgnesHTX on Instagram, or call 713-714-0078.
