I was fortunate to be in NYC for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, and the first show I saw had a hometown flavor. It was the morning of the first day and Cesar Galindo showed his newest concept, CZAR by Cesar Galindo. The big news was that Cesar, a 22-year fashion design veteran, known for designing no only for himself but other big guns of fashion as well, was presenting for the first time with his newest partners, The Mohawk Group. This collection which one of his partners, Ms. Christine Dente, described as filling the hole in today’s dress business between couture and mass market appeal, was in my opinion, the best complete collection that I have ever seen Cesar produce.
It is chocked full of great jersey knit easily wearable dresses, long and short in bold, vibrant color with a pop of neutrals and metallics as well. He did great solids that took the color so well and interesting prints that were uniquely his own.
The line was certainly dominated by dresses, Cesar’s signature, but had hints of sportswear in city shorts and skinny pants to complete a more lifestyle brand for the modern woman.
There were many H-town revelers there to cheer him on including myself, Neal Hamil, Lindsey Love and Michael Quintanilla, and I must say we all loved what we saw and were tickled pink, Hot Pink, like his great print dress, for our guy!
Below are some of the highlights of the collection……
