Ever wonder what fine diamonds look like in their natural, raw state? The answer is very unique, one-of-a-kind fine artisan pieces that are definitely for the modern woman who doesn’t want to just wear her “mother’s diamonds”. Todd Reed, a transplanted Colorado guy, who comes from several generations of very artistic family is a man of many talents. With a degree in Culinary arts, a passion which he practices on the side, he has designed everything from furniture to clothing. In 1992 he took his fascination with diamonds in their natural state and built a design business unlike any other in the jewelry industry.
His technique is always to start as a sketch, and create jewelry that pushed the boundaries of what precious pieces could be…his goal, to merge the freedom of artistic expression with the lure of fine jewelry. Hence it has been said his approach, often referred to as “from the craft show to the fine jewelry case”, has made people think differently about diamonds.
See below a sampling of his enormous collection that his Design Director, Aleksis Baltmanis, will be bringing to the Cotton Club this week. You must drop in and see for yourself. He is known for his unique take on luxury…organic delights, uncut scattered diamonds in free-spirited patterns all on a backdrop of quality metals from 18K gold, palladium, platinum and silver in every category of jewelry. Oops, almost forgot to mention that Todd is also famous for his great talent at re-purposing existing jewelry pieces. So if you have some outdated styles in your home jewelry box, bring it in….they will sketch for you their idea of how you can make it look new and once you approve the sketch, production on your custom piece will begin in Colorado and be sent to you!
Special Note: Please join myself, Roz Pactor, and Cotton Club owner, Lisa Spain, on Thursday evening, March 27 from 5:00 till 7:30 p.m. for a glass of wine and some light nosh as you begin your night and preview some beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry art. The Trunk Show Collection will be at Cotton Club through Saturday, March 29.
