Tibi Designer/Creative Director Amy Smilovic’s color palette of earthy neutrals, greys and navy’s shown monochromatically throughout the collection is a fresh approach showing many options for her clientele.
Amy Smilovic could not have planned how insightful her collection would appear, drawing inspiration from the Inuit/Arctic regions as her collection literally blew into the arctic blast that was happening in New York City this past Saturday for her seasonal debut. Everything that she showed oozed not just simple, easy apparel but also warmth and coziness, which we were all in need of as we watched each clothing item strut the runway. The softness of fur or fuzz details such as shearling coats and jackets; boucle culottes (culotte styles were shown to us and discussed by the designer as the way of the future, at her visit with us at Neiman Marcus after her Fashion Houston showing the night before). A fresh look for the culottes was the pairing of color-matched boucle culottes and tops in the softest mint and lavender. There was also flowing color-blocked skirts and dresses, in soft neutral or in tonal shades of blue to navy and more. There was even a feeling of athleisureware influences as well. All of this makes Tibi one of the most desirable and sought-after apparel in the contemporary market place.
