T-time is upon us…..Turtlenecks return as the sweater to purchase this season

There are those of us that have never given up on the Turtleneck as the under-pinning of choice for just about any outfit. It can be dressed up or down, be warm and snuggly in cashmere or if in lighter weight knitted fabrics and sleeveless, can be the transitional piece that draws you from Summer into Fall.  The news this season is that it is is no longer just a Diane Keaton thing…..as many of you may remember, in the Nancy Meyers’ film, ‘Something’s Gotta Give”, where Jack Nicholson says to her, implying her need to cover her body to the max….”Why do you always wear Turtlenecks?” (which she does wear a lot of and looks great and classic all the time, even adds a quirky twist at times!?)

This season the Fall 2015 runways were packed with Turtlenecks and their resurgence was obvious.  The irony of the neckline story from NYFW was two-fold, either off-the-shoulder, which I have spoken of often or high around the neck in variations of turtlenecks….from classics to the loose and scrunchy cowl necks.  Anyway, you want to wear it, is acceptable and chic as you will see from many of the examples below. Is there anything more divine than a beautifully soft cashmere turtleneck worn with a beautiful lace or beaded skirt for cocktail, under a blazer in a dress or with a skirt/pant for work or with a favorite jean and maybe a leather jacket for casual wear.  So take my advice and look into your closets or drawers (a good cashmere t-neck should always be stored folded!) and see what you have and then purchase a few new styles to freshen up your wardrobe, right HERE online from the selection of some of our favorites below.

Turtleneck2Image: GlamRadar.com; Classic look as underpinning for those chilly days, either here or when visiting another climate. For me it’s NYC in December, a trip I always make and always take along my favorite cashmere turtlenecks….nothing feels more cozy!
