Accessorize your tips this summer with the hottest trends in nails. Bright, vibrant colors are not only popping up on the runways, but on our nails as well. Wearing fun colors on your fingers and toes instantly adds some oomph to your everyday look. Whether you are feeling playful or glamorous, there is a shade of orange, blue or purple out there for you. Pastels and metallics are still hot this season. Bright Orange, Pinks and Reds remain permanent warm-weather staples, thank goodness!
There are some fun, unexpected ways to pair up colors at your next mani/pedi for a fresh summer look. Try pairing a minty green with metallic silver. Wear bright orange on your toes to match your tan. Wear shades of blue, but make sure the color on your fingers is a subtle hint of the one on your toes. See this month’s Instyle Magazine for great examples of some very hip nail combos.
Nails have gone wild: Leopard print is a fun trend to try. Simply polish your fingers warm gold and use OPI Shatter in black as the top coat. Another fun manicure to try is color-blocking with plain bold hues. Think of color-blocking your nails as an upside- down French manicure. (see photos below)
Of course, we can’t talk about hot summer nail trends without mentioning the hottest buzz word.. shellac! While it first came out late last spring, it is a major hit with busy ladies everywhere. What could be better than a manicure that lasts 2-3 weeks without chipping?! Shellac is a soak-off gel. It looks like polish but lasts longer because each coat is cured onto the nail with a UV lamp. Creative Nail Design, the leader in all things Shellac, currently has 12 trend focused shades that are available in most salons nationwide.
