Sneak Preview of Jonathan Blake’s Newest Fall Designs…

The evening of April 24, 2013 is an evening of anticipation for those style mavens that were delighted at the runway show last October of local newcomer on the Houston fashion scene, Jonathan Blake and his original designs.  I got a sneak peek at a sampling of the expanded Fall collection that he will be showing to an invitation only crowd at the Omni Houston Hotel next week and as these photos show, Jonathan has taken his collection a step up for Fall.

After listening to many of the comments and feedback from buyers and potential buyers of his first collection, Jonathan  has taken bold steps forward.  His inspiration, says Jonathan, is the “women who are strong and powerful leaders in the community,” many of which have become purchasers of his designs.

His collection of 47 pieces, priced from $275 and upwards, will cover all categories of dresses from evening to day, beautiful pants, jackets and other classic wardrobe essentials.  His use of the finest fabrics are highlighted in items such as his Silver Cashmere Coat….100% cashmere lined with pure silk satin lining.  Also, a stunning Red full quill Ostrich jacket, blazer length, with silk lining that could be paired with his silk lined wool pant in red, silver, black or navy.  There will be quite an array of what the industry calls mixed media….a mixing of fabrics such as leather insets and trim, a black asymmetrical dress with shiny alligator skin insets and many more.

When Jonathan was asked what his favorite piece was he described a “navy blue silk evening gown trimmed with suede around the neck and bodice…sides paneled with navy blue crocodile skin,” which sounds divine don’t you think?

Also worth mentioning is the styling…..the runway show, being produced by BLINC’s Bambi Linn, will feature accessories such as Jewels by Valobra, Hats & Fascinators by Gabriela Dror and Furs by Sakowitz Furs.  Paige Parkes models hair and makeup is being provided by Urban Retreat.
