This year’s SAG Awards, which followed closely behind the Fashion Black-Out of the Golden Globes was highly anticipated for a few reasons. One it was followed so closely behind the Women’s #MeToo/Time’sUp message that ruled the night at the Golden Globes, even down to clearly dominating the red carpet in their all-black attire. For the SAG Awards, the message was about Women’s Equality as well, however they chose to express it through the call-out that only Women would be presenters this year and the award show would have it’s first host of the evening and it would be a woman, Kristen Bell. The Women took charge and did not choose to wear one predominant fashion theme but instead chose to make it a night for us to see what’s new in celeb fashion.
I found it to be a red carpet that left me with limited fashion trend direction to head in to the new year and also a few spectacular gowns but lacking in the elegant glam department that I look for at these award shows. There was much shimmer and shine, colors varying from black, of course, to deep, darkish glitz, overall beading in colors of metal such as silver, pewter, bronze and also touches of some beautiful pastels that we are hearing will be all the rage this Spring with shades of pink leading the way.
