Franco Volobra (center), known for his hosting aplomb, had it all for the grand opening party of his new jewelry store location…. Priceless Jewels, World-class Chefs and even, Cat Burglars prowling the jewels!
As we arrived at the party venue, a large tented space adjacent to the beautiful new Valobra Master Jeweler’s new boutique, next door to St. Anne’s Church in River Oaks, we knew we were in for something big. The security to this invitation-only event was heightened, the exterior was overflowing with lots of joyful attendees appearing to be having a great time and there was just an energy that you felt even as you were walking into the tent.
Much of the buzz was about these amazing world-class chefs, some of the finest in the country….Thomas Keller of the French Laundry, Daniel Boulud of Daniel, and Jerome Bocuse of Les Chefs De France. The question on everyone’s lips was what brought them to Houston, Texas and the answer goes back to Keller’s and Valobra’s common interest in racing Ferraris and a friendship that stems from meeting at a racetrack a decade ago. These three gentlemen amazed the crowd where they so graciously prepared incredible delicacies and served them to the crowd of 300 in such a warm, congenial manner. Such nice guys that appeared to be having a great time.Daniel Boulud, Franco Valobra, Thomas Keller, Nancy Valobra, Jerome Bocuse
