About the collection
For Nicole Miller’s Spring/Summer 2015 Runway Show it was all about Rio de Janeiro and her great memories from her many trips to that wildly popular Brazilian city over the years. The collection was full of playful silhouettes and enticing floral prints in shades of peach, jade and coral with lots of black and white additions, mostly striped and/or optically patterned that was a great play on pattern mixing, which she has done so well for the last few seasons. The fruit du jour for prints and appliqués was the Pineapple and other fruits as well as palm and floral prints completed the patterned looks.
A shape that I particularly favored that she repeated often was the slim straight skirt and stretchy body-conscious dress trimmed in soft slim ruffles that looked very modern and new as the ruffles had just the right amount of pouf at the knee!
This fun, upbeat show made you want to pack your bag and plan a trip as the models, carrying vintage suitcases came down the runway for the finale swinging to the French version of one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite musical artists ever, Peter Allen. His “I Go to Rio” left us all ready to go and in a great spirit for the trip!
