The Rodeo may have left town but we are still abuzz talking about that memorable return to fashion shows that Naeem Khan brought to town recently at Neiman Marcus Galleria. As he presented his collection of 68 luxurious garments from his Fall Collection the crowd of ladies who lunched, were both excited and ready to shop.
Naeem Khan has always been a favorite of our city over the years and has many clients and friends in our town. He had not been here in five years and like many of us had chosen to stay near his home base in New York for the last couple of years, but with Spring he is eager and ready to hit the road again. He shared with me his excitement of returning to New York Fashion Week in September, which I know will make many fashion peeps happy as his show was always a fun happening part of that hectic week.
Naeem Khan has always been known for creating glamorous evening gowns that shine with lots of beading, beautifully rich fabrics and embroideries, and for Spring also a taste of bold, bright, colorful prints. His collection at Neiman’s had it all……so much to see and as the designer commented to me when I asked how he can continuously produce such large, unique collections of such special garments……it is his desire “to have something for everyone!” That he did and the ladies loved it!
Khan, never letting “the grass grow” hinted at expanding his brand to include among other things accessories…..we will have to wait and see more on what is to come!
The designer and his team shared some excitement from their end that they were all being treated to front-row seats to the Houston Rodeo by Kristina Somerville and her hubby Paul. Kristina, a member of the honorees of the day, the Champagne Cowgirls, had gifted Naeem with tickets at the luncheon. Accompanying him and his staff was NM’s Heather Almond as seen below…..
Naeem Khan will be returning in September for 40th Anniversary of Houston Best Dressed…..
The Houston Chronicle Best Dressed luncheon has raised $14 million dollars leading the fight for the health of all moms and babies. The luncheon recognizes and honors Houston’s leading fashionable and philanthropic ladies in an effort to raise critical funds to support research programs and resources to improve birth outcomes for families in Houston communities. This year’s luncheon chair is Hallie Vanderhider and Designer is Naeem Khan.
