Somehow Saturday night felt like the right time and setting to view Monique Lhuillier who knows how to make beautiful dresses, especially for evening wear and that did not disappoint this season. Her color palette was very much about Black and Red (“It is the Year of the Dragon,” said the designer).
The take-away for me from this show was visions of lots of great leather dresses, cinched wide-belted looks, lots of long, slim sleeves, prints, beading and lace embellishments and sheer organza worked in beautiful ways. Our feature red dress, her show closer, in addition to many of her stunning gown offerings, should be a call-out to any searching celebrity stylists, as a natural for the red carpet.
Black classic LBD with leather insets; long-sleeve red leather with cut-out sleeves & back interest; note: wide black leather belt
Long black lace trimmed/inset gown, deep leg slit; beaded black cocktail with sheer neckline
Long eggplant gown w/deep straps and sheer neckline; Espresso sheered & draped wide one-shoulder gown
Red lace over nude tulle that screams red carpet or chic Houston gala; Black bead printed with sheer high neckline (a favorite of mine)
Poor quality image I know. Sorry, but couldn’t pass on Houston’s Hot Chicks front row at the show: Debbie Festari, Melissa Mithoff, Joyce Echols and Elizabeth Peterson.
