Longing for a Facial?

We are s-l-o-w-l-y getting there.  With restaurants and malls opening and the stay-at-home being lifted, could there really be a light at the end of this very long tunnel?  Time will tell but I know my family will still be taking it slow and steady for a while longer.  While this soft opening is amazing, I know I am longing for hair salons and spas to be open again.  That is how I always like to spend Mother’s Day…at a spa by myself!  While some of those professional treatments cannot be recreated at home, some actually can.  Read on to discover!

Dark Spots

So we’ve had to pause on our laser treatments to remove all traces of our love for the sun.  In the meantime, this is a perfect time to ramp up your Vitamin C treatment in your skincare routine. First, Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant for your skin, protecting it against the free-radicals (bad stuff) in the environment plus it promotes collagen production (yes, please!).  It also inhibits your skin’s melanin production, keeping future spots at bay while working to reduce the ones you currently have. My new favorite Vitamin C product is the Beauty Stat Universal C Skin Refiner.  It contains 20% stable vitamin C (it won’t degrade over time either) and I have truly noticed a difference in my spots for the better since I have been using this.

Microdermabrasion

I love exfoliating my skin. It truly makes a difference in my skin’s texture and keeps my breakouts at bay.  I used to use Laura Mercier’s Face Polish but I had to turn it up a notch.  My friend Felicia from @thisthatbeauty introduced me to the Silk’n Revit Microdermabrasion Device.  It is both gentle and effective at exfoliating the skin, using light vacuum stimulation. The whole idea of this type of exfoliation is to go deeper to purge pores, remove dead skin cells, reduce the appearance of blemishes and surface imperfections resulting in clearer, more even-toned skin. This device offers close to professional level results….its legit.

Neck Treatments

So maybe you were due for a neck lift that got canceled.  During these indoor times we are also are on your computers and phones even more (if that was possible) and a thing called tech neck may be causing a few more lines than before.  To remedy those, I recommended Perricone Cold Plasma+ Sub-D Neck Cream.  I tend to find most neck creams THICK, hard to apply and don’t absorb.  I was so happy that this one moved, making it very easy to apply, it absorbed quickly so I wasn’t a greasy mess and I did feel a tightening effect. Definitely a winner!

Pore Extraction

While this was always my least favorite part of a facial, I know my skin was always way better off afterwards.  I try not to pick and prod at clogged pores at home so I have been reaching for my DermaPore Pore Extractor.  This device uses ultrasonic vibrations to unclog pores, removing the dirt and grime, and I must admit it’s a little gross but satisfying.  Seeing the gunk on the device versus in your skin is success!

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage is a technique used to stimulate the flow of lymph, which is a fluid that transports white blood cells, oxygen, and nutrients to tissues throughout the body. When your body is struggling to move the lymph, it results in puffiness and tired looking skin. To recreate the massage at home, the Angela Caglia Rose Quartz Roller can help.  Using gentle upward strokes on the face and neck, it recreates that spa facial massage, reducing puffiness and stimulating circulation.  I always notice a difference in my ‘11’ in the middle of my forehead after I use this.  The lines are much more relaxed and I don’t notice them as much.

Most of these brands are running deals for Mother’s Day so it is a great time to treat Mom and yourself!  Let us know what products you love to maintain your results until we can get back to our favorite facialists!
