Power couple, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen….two of the co-hosts of the evening, wearing Stella McCartney for Gisele and Tom in Tom Ford
For those of you that follow Fashion Calendars, you would know that the First Monday of May, means one thing….it’s Met Gala time that kicks off the year’s biggest blockbuster fashion exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of New York Costume Institute. This event, considered by some as the the ‘Oscars’ of Fashion, is Fashion’s night to pull out all stops for designers to show it’s best designs on it’s best A+ celebrity clients. Last night, the event co-hosted by Anna Wintour, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams and duo, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen. The honoree and exhibitor for this year’s event was Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons which brought out many interpretations of this designer’s talent…..from the very avant garde to subtle interpretations and to the a simple array of classic, elegant beauty. Also, it should be noted that in honor of this Japanese designer known for bold color, the inside of the Met was as interesting and full of colorful life as the carpet, which by the way, this year, not a traditional red but a bold cobalt blue!!!

Actually, that was a dress by Comme des Garsons that was being honored…that is a lot of what they do. I heard them say last night that getting to the Gala was a challenge for her……had to come by truck that she could stand up in!!! What will be done for fashion and beauty!!!!
