Luxury skin care leader, La Prairie, teamed up with makeup artist, Rachel Wade, to launch it’s first color collection, “Bouquet de Jardin,” a bouquet of colour wrapped in luxury.
Inspired by the gorgeous, bold peonies blooming in Brooklyn Botanical Garden, La Prairie Colour Ambassador, Wade, created the perfect canvas of colour for its Summer 2011 collection that launched in May. This first makeup artist created and collaborated colour collection for the luxury Swiss Beauty brand was presented to us recently at a breakfast at Neiman Marcus.
To quote Wade, “My makeup philosophy is about being beautiful, yet polished and feminine. To me, a peony does just that. ”Peonies, a personal favorite of mine, as well as I love it’s beautiful colour and delicacy.” That is what the goal of the collection was. To create beautiful shades, as often seen in peonies, that would flatter all skin tones and eye colors. Beautiful, simple and not overpowering.
Some of the key components of the collection are its: Cellular Treatment Eye Colour Ensemble, Cellular Radiance Cream Blush, a silver compact filled with long-wearing, non-drying cheek color, an item I sampled and loved! Also, are Luxe Eye and Lip Definers.
Making makeup simple is the mantra of Rachel Wade, founder of CHEEK TO CHIC, as well as Colour Ambassador to La Prairie. CHEEK TO CHIC was founded in 2002 by Wade, a former makeup artist for high-end department stores in Beverly Hills and NYC, whose career “on the floor” working with many luxury brands gave her the hands-on knowledge to help women who felt intimidated by the vast number of beauty products in the market. CTC’s signature services has won her many awards and accolades as well as features in all media.
Both CHEEK TO CHIC and La Prairie share the same philosophy that clean, beautiful makeup begins with gorgeous skin, no matter what your age. I’ve sampled these colours and love its warm glow and soft, subtle beauty on my skin!
