What’s the whispering about? I’d say it’s behind the scenes at the most recent Ines Di Santo Runway Show at NYC Bridal Week……and these lovely ladies know they are wearing something very special!!!
My first introduction to Ines Di Santo was in NYC Bridal week a couple of years ago when I was humbly ‘filling in’ at market for an unavailable Joan Pillow and attended the Di Santo runway show. There was much excitement in the front row and beyond as anxious buyers and media were waiting for the show to begin. I was unfamiliar with Di Santos but became an instant fan as one exciting gown after another graced the runway. At exactly the same time striking backlit photography flashed along the walls……excitement was in the air and we all felt it! It left a lasting impression and I would say that the excitement of that day is only equal to the feeling now of being able to tell all about this beautiful, special collection that is coming to Joan Pillow Bridal Salon in Highland Village next week. You must make it in there to see the collection. (Spring 2018 Collection Trunk Show dates, June 8 -10)
We have chosen a select group of images below from this season’s runway show to give you a feel for the stunning gowns in this collection, but first I want to tell you a little about Ines, the designer, and just what inspired her for this season.
About Ines Di Santo: Raised in Buenos Aires, Ines studied both fine art and design in Argentina and Milan. Her designs capture the essence of sophisticated glamour. Her couture techniques, seen in each hand-sewn gown, plays to the feminine side of a woman’s beauty, in both her bridal and evening collections. Although she maintains an office in the States, the family and its headquarter atelier and flagship are located in Toronto, Canada.
For Spring 2018 Ms. Di Santo’s inspiration for her collection had an overriding feel for simplicity. Says Di Santo, “While perhaps my idea of simple is still influenced by my Italian and Latin heritage, this season became a dance with the artist and editor in mind. Not a stitch more than what was needed……I’ve taken great pleasure in the white space, the clean and quite surround that allows me to appreciate details otherwise lost. We’ve laid down the theater this season to allow the elegance of classicism and the women I love to dress take their place in the forefront.” xx, Ines
