Gucci Lovers…..Fashion & Dining Await You in Florence, Italy

Gucci Garden
Gucci Garden debuted in Firenze in early 2018, features Gucci Creative Director, Alessandro Michele’s vision of a renovated Gucci museum. Three floors are dedicated to recognizing the brand and its history which began in Florence in 1921, highlighted by his collaboration with Michelin award winning chef, Mossimo Bottura on the highly acclaimed, Gucci Osteria.
Chef Mossimo Bottura, 3 Michelin star executive chef of his world famous restaurant, Osteria Francescana in his hometown of Modena, that has been awarded Number One restaurant in the world, 2016 and 2018. (to learn more about this amazing man, recently featured on 60 Minutes, google him and learn of all of the amazingly generous gifts of food he has offered to the world and not limited to his home country.)

As we are readying for our next trip with BPP Tours to Florence, Italy and the Tuscan region, I am confirming dinner reservations to what has become one of our most popular and favorite items on our trip agenda and that is our evening at the Gucci Osteria restaurant in the heart of Florence. This world-renowned restaurant, which only opened its doors in January of 2018 has fast become one of the main attractions in this food-lovers dream of a city. The playful space mixes traditional decor with bright modern colors and artwork. The food, which is conceptualized and updated regularly is the creation of 3 times Michelin award winning chef Mossimo Bottura. Bottura, in a perfect ‘marriage’ with Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele, has created a menu that is light, simple and imaginative……a refreshing change in a city of pasta and pizzas that we love! It should be noted that because Gucci was founded in 1921 in the city of Firenze, half of all proceeds goes toward funding restoration projects in this beautiful city, overflowing with ancient art and Renaissance history!

(Hot-off-the-Press, it should be noted: if you are looking to partake in this amazing experience, due to some cancellations, there are a few seats available for the upcoming May 2019 trip and we would love to have you. If interested, don’t hesitate, please contact M.A. Shute at bpptours.com or myself at roz@myredglasses.com. We’d love to chat and tell you more about this very special opportunity.)

Below are some of our favorite moments with BPP Tours of our visits to this highly acclaimed restaurant….a special memory of each of our trips!

ICYMI……just in case you missed Creative Director, Alessandro Michele’s newest Fall 2019 Collection as it was recently shown as the opening show of Milan Fashion Week, some highlights are below…….

Gucci Garden
Gucci Fall 2019 Runway directly from Milan Fashion Week features Alessandro Michele’s, lots of “little things”. Most memorable were his emphasis on the ’40’s tailoring of his grandmother’s generation, primarily in strong shouldered jackets worn by both the women and the men. The look also featured nipped waists, full pants cropped above the ankle, printed camp shirts, Victorian era blouses and statement outerwear. Sneakers were emphasized and called ‘game changers’ by the designer for the way they have liberated women from the daily usage of high heels. Masks were a signature of this collection emphasizing its social attitude.
