This time of year, always makes me so excited for the upcoming holiday festivities! I love thinking about the Christmas decor in Highland Village and all of the great sales I’m about to embark on at the Galleria! I then think of all the Christmas parties I have to attend and always ask the same question, “What am I going to wear?” It always seems that no matter what I chose, there is always a hint of sparkle and shine. Kristen here, and I am so excited to share with you my top picks for this season’s holiday “glitterati” style. The glitterati trend can be found from anywhere from shoes to your make up! Glitterati has also been seen all over the Spring 2018 runway, so don’t feel like you have to put away your sparkly accessories after The New Year.

This past fall I have seen metallic boots and booties in some of my favorite stores and on the runway. I am dying to try this trend and love how they can be styled with an outfit from an adorable mini skirt to a casual outfit paired with cropped jeans or pants! These are sure to make you stand out at a party or even add to a fun everyday look.
Statement earrings are my favorite way to dress up any outfit! I love to pair them with a little black dress or any outfit that just needs a hint of sparkle. From Oscar De La Renta, Rebecca De Ravanel, and even Bauble Bar, there are so many options to add that perfect touch of shine to your outfit. They are also an easy accessory to find almost anywhere, especially when in a rush to a holiday party!
Another way to change up your look during the holidays is in your make up. I love to wear bold eyeshadows and lipstick. It is such a special time of year, so why not make your make up just as much fun? Glitter eyeshadow and body glitter has made its way anywhere from the runway to music festivals. An easy way to update your holiday look is to add a little bit of glitter to your make up. A touch of glittery eyeshadow or a glittery nail polish color is the perfect way to add some holiday cheer to your look!
At MRG, we are also on a major trend watch for this Spring’s 2018 runway metallic dresses. Nothing excites me more than knowing that the sparkle and shine of the holidays doesn’t have to go away right after Christmas! I have always been a fan of metallic pieces paired with pastels and this upcoming season there can be a lot of color and texture mixing coming into play! I especially can’t get over this beautiful metallic dress Aimee Song wore this season to New York Fashion Week! She was right on trend with the incoming metallic dresses that were showcased during the shows. A dress like this would also be perfect to wear at any Christmas or New Year’s party!
Last but not least, I have to mention the shine I am seeing from skirts seen in street wear. I have scoured the internet finding them in all different fabrics and metallic hues. I am still so in love with velvet and have seen it incorporated into a lot of pleated midi skirts this season and last season. Leather is also another one of my favorites and have seen a mix of pleated and midi skirts in leather. I love miniskirts and midi skirts are now all on trend so we can change up the hemline almost depending on the day! How much fun would it be to pair a leather mini skirt with some metallic booties like the pairs showcased above?
We hope you enjoy these picks just as much as we do! We are so excited that the holidays are finally HERE and can’t wait to dress accordingly! We also look forward to keeping our “shine” well into the spring season.
