If you had told me a couple of years ago I would be choosing to wear my sneakers instead of cute ballet pumps or wedges I would have laughed out loud! My trainer collection has jumped from one pair Ive used and abused in and out the gym (including dog walks) to around seven pairs I can’t live without!
Sneakers have seen a major revival in the last couple of seasons on the runway. No longer are the days when you only brought sneakers to work to change into heels. Now, sneakers can be as much of a statement as a pair of pumps.

We see them in a range of different styles, colors, brands including high end designers such as Chanel and Versace paving the way to making trainers fashionable and wearable. We saw this more on the catwalk at fall/winter 2015 collections.

Skaters
Skaters have become THE street shoe from most designers……from High-End, Versace, Prada to Vince, and of course, Vans. There is always also the classic Converse shoe, a look that is interchangeable with skaters. Happily purchase a clean white pair or leather or snakeskin…..all that take me from spring through to winter. Worn casually with jeans, dressed down with joggers or dressed up when a dress is added. Converse come in every colour and design possible – every gal needs to have their go-to. And along that same note is skaters. Skater sneakers are as hot as ever, and for good reason. They go with everything and have such a cool vibe to them.

Every designer show ends with a Bride and this Bride showed there are many ways to make that look your own and sneakers are an add-on you may not have seen before. It also proves that it helps to pick neutral colors when adding trainers to your ‘everyday wardrobe’. This solves any pondering moments like how are these neon pink sneakers going to pair up with my outfit of choice! Leather trainers are neutral, chic and sophisticated. Style we would expect to see on Chanel runways.
Contradicting maybe my last statement, but trainers (not neon pink ones!) can act as the spot of colour your outfit needs to stand out, whether it’s shown off through the pattern or laces. Match with your accessories for an effortless casual look.
We will see trainers creep in more and more as the go to footwear choice especially for us gals who are on the move! To run about trying to complete our countless weekend errands just isn’t possible in heels – I choose fashion, style and comfort. Sneakers are here to stay!

What a revelation? Sneakers w/ a wedding dress. Brilliant!
Keep up the great fashion news. I saw square heels and fur on shoes this a.m. on Today Show. Also
OTK boots. What’s the POINT? Not gonna wear hot pants.
Virginia, yes the wedding dress was a little extreme but the point being made is that fashion sneakers work with everything and are all over the runways and the streets of NY, Paris, Milan; Stay tuned for more on the return of the chunky heel, I bought some and sure does make walking easier!!!! Thanks for your comments, I love getting them…..and p.s. can’t wait to see you wearing those OTK boots when you’re wearing your hot pants.!
