Many of you know and have read here about my wonderful adventures in Tuscany, specifically Florence/Firenze, over the years. One of the newest additions to my trips for the last two years is the gracious invite by The Lungarno Collection CEO Valeriano Antonioli to their ever-so-chic Fall SPOON Event. Spoon Events started in 2015 as a culinary concept featuring an eclectic mix of beautiful interesting people mostly from Italy that also feature an epicurean extravaganza of a dining experience. Fine wines are there for the asking and always a DJ to keep this lively group dancing into the night. My favorite highlight of the evening is their unique seating placements……you are given a number at sign-in and on your place card and after each course you are asked to move to the next number on your card. Sound confusing, well it’s not and it is an amazing way to meet many very interesting people that you would not have other wise. These dining evenings have many courses all exquisitely developed and plated by Michelin Chefs under the supervision of Michelin restaurant chef from the Lungarno Hotel’s Borgo San Jacopo……the treats of this evening are endless. Also, not to mention that the evening is always themed, tariffs are minor and it is always held in the exquisite Ferragamo’s Palazzo Capponi on the Arno River.
So, I’m taking you back to my Italian adventures to spotlight the fun Barbie “Spoon” Party I attended while in Firenze this October. Picture this: after a day of trecking through the rolling hills, endless vineyards, an Italian sunset at a gorgeous venue, all with a Barbie twist. Yes, you heard me right! Keep reading to hear all the details.
First things first, the theme this time was Barbie, and everyone embraced it with a ton of flair! We had everything from the life-sized Barbie boxes to pink outfits that would make Barbie herself jealous. Even I couldn’t help but channel my inner Barbie with a fabulous pink wrap.
Now, what’s a Barbie party without some creative party elements? The organizers went all out, The elegant Ferragamo palace was over-flowing in pink with just enough candle light to add a pink glow to the entire ballroom…..replacing traditional party decor. Of course, Spoons were everywhere adding an unexpected touch. Who knew that spoons could be so chic? Take a look at some of the festive elements and decor below:
Pink and white decorations with specks of yellow were a lovely and elegant choice. The giant pink spoon at the head of the room was the perfect touch!
As the night unfolded, I had a great time mingling with friends new and old. It was only a matter of time before all things Barbie pink became a part of the photoshoot fun!

Overall, this event was so fun and I loved how the theme added such a unique flair to this always elegant dinner party. It was a fun reminder to “embrace your inner Barbie,” and tap into your authentic, bold, creative, and of course – fashionable side! As we head into the holiday season and I reflect on 2023, I’m feeling grateful for the interesting events like these that life throws my way.
