What’s all the Buzz about ?? That it’s September and it’s not called Fashion Month for no reason…..lots and lots to chat about!
There is so much to chat about in the Fashion World these days. After all it is September which is not just about going back to school or starting a new season but after all, it is Fashion Month…..the month of September issues that have overflowed from our mailboxes. (yes, I do take all of the big mags online but I just can’t give up the printed versions of the Big Three, even if lifting them is a challenge for my still not completely recovered back!) The following are only a few of the newest things happening as we speak.
It should be noted: I am missing New York Fashion Week this season due to our newest addition making her entrance at the front of that week, (appropriate timing for a future fashion gal…just sayin’) but will be reporting on the shows from afar a little later in the month!

Although the River Oaks District is targeted to be open on October 1, 2015, the French Jeweler, Cartier, will be opening its doors on September 3, 2015, just in time for the start of the Fall Shopping Season. At that time, Cartier will be closing its temporary digs on Post Oak Blvd. that it has occupied since May, 2014. Lela Rose Online
This popular native Texas fashion designer, whose collections at NYFW, always personally excites me, is claiming bragging rights on her “digital facelift” as she calls the updating of her website. Effective September 1, Lela Rose will be officially launching her e-commerce site that will include her apparel, her new handbag collection and jewelry. The newly developed LelaRose.com will also be the first place that will debut her new candle collection in early 2016. One of the more interesting features will be her blog titled, Eat, Drink, Dress Lela that will showcase the full lifestyle behind the Lela Rose brand. Check it out!
Givenchy To Show in NYFW
Givenchy Creative Director, Riccardo Tisci, has taken a unique approach to Fashion Week. First he moved Givenchy’s show from Paris to New York to coincide with the opening of the new Givenchy boutique in NYC. This show on September 11 is being opened up to the general public to attend. 1200 non-industry, non-celeb civilians as well as a number of students and faculty from fashion schools in New York will have an opportunity of a lifetime to see the Givenchy runway show live. There is a website that Givenchy has partnered with the city of New York to introduce the new site name, live as of 10 a.m. on September 1, where tickets can be purchased on a first-come-first-serve basis. As Women’s Wear Daily has written, ‘this approach is one that could be a one time wonder or could dramatically change the fashion show system for the long haul.’

Madewell has officially opened its doors in Houston’s own Highland Village. This is now the third location in the Houston area (The Galleria and The Woodlands being the other two). Last night, the store had its opening party, and was packed with fashionable men and women that are very excited there is now another Madewell to shop at in the area! Cotton Club Collections Has Two New Inner-store Boutiques
Cotton Club Collection has many new things going on in their boutique this season….you need to drop in! First, owner Lisa Spain has given up some of her interior space from the gals to the guys and has joined forces with Michael Wiesenthal and has installed a Men’s Shop-Within-Shop, M Weisenthal Men’s Shop inside Cotton Club. She has also installed a Sarah Pacini Shop as well. This International, made in Italy, collection of modern, contemporary sportswear has become one of my favorites. Beautiful luxurious fabrics and knitwear that all should stop in to see and touch for yourself.
