It looks like our stylishly chic vintage gals are putting Houston on the map again. Tina Davis and Denise Hazen, proprietors of 4 year old Cheeky Vintage, are telling me that once again, the Tommy Hilfiger team was in their store last week and this time bought over 100 pieces for sale in their 5th Avenue, Paris and London stores. Of course, since I spent much of my former life with every division of Tommy (retail trivia: Foley’s McAllen store was second only to Macy’s Herald Square in the amount of T.H. sold!). I was quite interested to know what fashion goodies sparked the Tommy peeps’ interest. Tina says, “her selection included preppy plaids as well as holiday pieces in navy, dark green and burgundy color families.” They also could not resist purchasing large collections of chunky gold, a big trend for the season. “American chic vibe that will merchandise with Tommy’s current collection is what they were after,” says Davis.
So, this on top of the rather larger purchase before from the Hilfiger crew, and did I mention that Fred Segals’ daughter, Annie, has also made frequent purchases for her corner of the world in her Dad’s store, which BTW, may be my favorite of all of the hip stores in the U.S.!
Thanks Tina and Denise for making us Houston-proud….please keep finding those wonderful buys and I’m sure they and your many H-town customers will keep on seeking out that great little store on Richmond!
Thank you Roz for writing about Cheeky’s latest news!
