Make A Statement With Boots This Fall

No one is as happy as I am that the temps are finally dropping here in Houston; it has been gorgeous outside this past week! One of my favorites things about Fall (among many)… I get to break out my boots! It’s Alyssa here chatting with you about some of the trends we’ve been seeing in boots both on and off the runway. One thing is for sure, boots are making a statement this fall! And, remember when I said that the 90s were a major part of fall denim? That is true for boots, too!

1. Velvet

From Phillip Lim and Saint Laurent to Prada and Valentino, velvet boots were all over the Fall 2016 runways! If you want the trendy shoe this season, look no further than the velvet boot. The fabric alone screams cold weather!

2. Block Heels

Definitely a favorite of mine – I wear my block heel boots everywhere! The block heel is great in all heel heights, and in a bootie style or over the knee boots. This fall, step out of your comfort zone with the classic brown or black – go for blues, jewel tones, velvet, and prints (as you will see below). And, cuff your jeans to show them off!

3. Over-the-knee

This trend has been pretty popular the past few seasons, and it’s not going anywhere! This fall, ditch the tights, and pair them with skirts, dresses and jeans. They look luxe in suede or velvet, but stay away from the patent leather!! Experiment with different heel heights  to find the right pair for you.

4. Printed and Embroidered

As you can see based on the other trends, boots are bold this fall – think embroidery, floral print,  brocade and snakeskin. I’m a lover of head to toe black, so I am definitely interested in adding a fun pop to my wardrobe this fall.  Vogue // Bloglovin’

5. The Hiking Boot

There’s is nothing I like more than a comfortable, practical, AND cute shoe! These are definitely boots that can last you from fall through winter, and even into spring – they are a great investment piece. They look perfect paired with skinny jeans, a classic camel colored coat, and feminine accessories. Or go glam like some of your favorite celebrities on the red carpet here! A pair of hiking style boots are certainly at the top of my fall shopping list!
