On Febuary 16, David Peck, our top Houston Made supplier of great fashion, hosted select members of the fashion press, buyers and clients, certainly our most curious fashion peeps, to his showroom/studio on Kirby for an exclusive first hand look at David’s Fall/Winter 2013 CrOp collection, followed by a first hand experience and tour of his studio to see how the collection is crafted. David has previously showed his collections in NYC during NYFW, but this year he wanted to spotlight Houston’s thriving fashion community. It should be noted that David is presiding over a task force as part of the Greater Houston Partnership, of which I am also a member, whose goal it is to raise the awareness in America and the world that Houston is a wealth of design talent in both fashion and interior design, and also a source for clothing manufacturing and this was a great way to support that idea.
David’s Fall CrOp collection is inspired by his love of classic cinema and he has titled it Fast Forward, which combines mid-century elegance with architectural elements and infuses them with warm neutrals and bold color.
Inspired by David’s love of this classic film medium, Fast Forward merges feminine silhouettes in sumptuous prints, simple suiting, and tailored separates with decadent elements like dainty velvet, sheer insert, patterned knits and rich, luxurious textiles.
I must say that I am obviously a supporter of David, but genuinely feel this to be his finest collection to date.
Following are some of my favorite selections which I edited from his many abundance of many styles…..
