It was truly a very special night when myself and co-chair Terry Hogan Turner kicked-off the Roman Holiday luncheon & fashion show that we are chairing March 12 for the Italian Cultural and Community Center at the beautiful Roman-esque Memorial drive home of Tina and Dan Silvestri. A special treat for me and for the crowd of 200+ supporters was the guest appearance by my brother, Steve Tyrell, who made a special trip to H-town just to show his support along with Terrie and I for our I.C.C.C. and their ongoing celebration of Italian heritage.
What a fun night it was starting with the welcome in the entry with two electric scooters that were being auctioned that evening to benefit the Center. Needless to say the scooters were a popular item that evening…..great photo op plus two gentlemen got to make them their own!
The Silvestri home was a perfect setting for the lively party. Guests were able to mix and mingle in this beautifully vast home while sipping on Italian wines from Vinoloy, Beviamo International, Tutti Lilly and Philip Cusimano. Also, throughout the home there were Italian taste treats from various local Italian restaurants. Guests enjoyed everything from gourmet pasta varieties and savory cannolis to decadent chocolates and imported Italian candies provided Tracy and Kelly Finn. Dining stations included B.B. Italia, Roma, Ciro’s Fresco Cafe Italiano, Palazzo’s, and Baratti & Milano and Masseria Maccarone.
The evening not only kicked off the upcoming Roman Holiday themed fashion show/luncheon but was also an opportunity for party goers to learn more about the I.C.C.C., what it provides for our city’s Italians and those that love and want to know more about all things Italian. It was also a great way to sign up to participate in the luncheon.
A look at this fun evening….
