I’m sure we will remember not that long ago we published an article about the ‘it’ bag of spring, the bucket bag, featuring Mansur Gavriel (go back and read it here if you’d like!). Well, you are about to hear some amazing news if you’re a fan! Our very own TOOTSIES in Houston has recently started carrying Mansur Gavriel bags. Yep, you heard it here first!
Considering that Mansur Gavriel’s Bucket Bag caused something of a revolution in the handbag world, I can only imagine how you are going to feel when you see their two new additions to their fall collection.
Firstly, I need to tell you about their gorgeously practical ‘Lady Bag’ backpack. Within this bag you have plenty of room to carry all your daily essentials and more comfortably. Backpacks made a re-appearance in the fashion world a couple of season ago and they are back for this fall. So many different styles, colours and prints to choose from, but what I love about the ‘Lady Bag’ is how it’s simplistic and classic in its appearance.
Next is my favorite, the Crossbody. This will play a huge part in next season; we will be seeing this style a lot! Yes it’s a smaller bag, but what more do us gals need other than a beautiful lipstick, phone and bank cards?!
Mansur Gavriel has gone down the traditional design and style of the crossbody bag which is timeless and a great staple item which will go with most of your closet, especially in the natural colours from their collection. There are other designers that have gone a bit further to represent new ways of carrying the crossbody bags. These can be worn flat on the chest as seen on Rag & Bone, or shorter straps worn on the back and then the oversized styles. We will be seeing a lot of ‘70s feel and inspirations throughout the next season which we love at My Red Glasses. In line with those classic shoulder bags, crossover styles and rucksacks, winter and fall collections will be bringing back the 1970s shapes, the iconic bucket bag reinvented and designs decorated with floral and beaded patterns. I cannot wait for fall now!
