Due to timing on our part, we were absent for the opening of one of Berg Hospitality‘s newest ventures, Trattoria Sofia and with it being holidays and just crazy life and pandemic distractions, we just got there last weekend. Well, I must say it was well worth the wait. First, it was great to see all the team, with a special cameo appearance by Ben’s youngest, Diego, traveling the restaurants with Dad on a Saturday night and of course, as always Sam Governale and the Sofia team, including our first meeting with Executive Chef, L. J. Wiley, who personally selected all of their tasty menu options for us to try.
The place was hopping and packed on a Saturday night and all of the finishing touches we had heard about were complete. We found the restaurant and its warm rustic feel was so inviting! Below are some of my shots of the interior/exterior of this newest trattoria in our city………..
The main attraction, the food, of course, was a rebuild of familiar Italian favorites with a modern twist, that have always been personal favorites plus some newer dishes created by 20-year veteran Chef L.J.Wiley and Mangus Hansson, globally acclaimed chef and master bread maker who consulted with Wiley in developing the menu. To say that we indulged on as many dishes as we could is an understatement and have established our favorites list for our next return to this Italian eatery. Below some examples of the many dishes that we loved……..
So we may have been late to the party and for many, our accolades to this new Italian hot spot may be old news but if not, you must try it for yourselves. It was “divino”!!
