Fashion’s Night Out Flashback; My First in the Big Apple…

This is Roz and I’m back to the living…..Houston Chic Sheet writing that is!  After 10 days in NYC where I attended my first ever Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference (great!), the birth of Lucian, my niece Tina Tyrell and hubby Ethan Pomerance’s bouncing baby boy, who lives in Brooklyn and was the highlight of my trip.(so memorable)  I then partied at my first ever Big Apple Fashion’s Night Out,(fun!), attended shows at NY Fashion Week (amazing) and came home to plan, coordinate and fit 35 models for the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce Fashion Show with Macy’s and Jos. A. Bank,Women in the Fast Lane, that just happened today(rewarding).  Wheeewwww, it’s been a lot but I’m back and ready to share so many of my great experiences (I know this is TMI for most of you, but you know I was raised on Italian guilt and if you haven’t heard from me I just have to tell you why?!).

I’m starting my experience-sharing with NYC Fashion’s Night Out.  There were 791 participating stores in the city and so I chose to do only 5th Ave. plus Barney’s….I was warned, stilettos can only last so long!  The energy was amazing, the stanchions were up as the streets and the stores were packed with celebs & fashionistas, the merchandise and the people were beautiful and even though I was alone I actually ran into many people I knew from NYC and “the business”, of fashion, of course.  I took tons of photos, which I have edited to the ones below.  Take a look, enjoy and I apologize to all of the many Houston fashionistas that I know threw some great parties…..if I could have been two places I would have!

Highights of NYC Fashion’s Night Out…..

FNO started early for this fashionista (note: same red glasses from same maker as Roz Pactor’s); a guest at Henri Bendel’s packed party house.

Bergdorf Goodman’s Shoe Dept. where all of the beautiful people of 5th Ave. appeared to cluster; Houston fashion gal, Camille Newton, daughter of a bientot’s Betty & a few BF’s at Bergdorf’s, 5th Ave.’s happening place to be.

Barney’s big window shoe challenge….guess the number of pumps in the window & win a super FNO Shopping Spree;  Designer Lela Rose and Vogue Editor at BG’s Book Signing of their 111th anniversary collaboration book, “Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf Goodman’s”, an anthology of personal reflections from notable designers, celebrities, writers and employees.

Fashion Night-istas, sporting the signature Tshirt at Bendel’s (saw this darling duo in every store on 5th);  DJ’s at Bergdorf’s….played great tunes all night long….Bergdorf’s truly rocked!

Merle Kram, Cosmetic Mgr. at Barney’s (worked for me at Foley’s…I had no idea, catching up was fun!);  Armani makeovers continuously by “the lady in the red glasses”;  Sammi Gayle, one of the stars of a favorite TV show, Blue Bloods, was a celebrity guest at BG’s….what a young beauty!

Louis Vuitton store all abuzz with people actually shopping;  at Tiffany’s of course, they rolled out the Blue Carpet for FNO revelers;  Prada store on 5th was wickedly full of great merch; I had to drag myself away from that crowd!
