Ralph Lauren Collection, a nod to old Hollywood glamour updated in such a modern way!
The lights dimmed, Ralph had just shown the crowd his newest, hippest youth-inspired Polo collection and then he began Act II of his Fall 2014 Runway Show. The contrast had been sharp, as he took his bow after showing one of his most elegant, refined collections in a while. There was no mistaking the two offerings which became apparent as this luxe collection of monochromatic looks in a soft palette of pastels, greys and clear whites hit the runway. His use of such rich materials as cashmere, brushed suede, satin pongee and Mongolian lamb added to this very refined and elegant presentation that was the height of Modern Glamour. These beautifully refined looks that also had such an easy glam about them feel well-suited for any lifestyle demands from, day into evening, luncheons to red carpet. I can clearly see the silvery grey caped gown or strapless lame on the scene for Oscar night…..possibly on Lupita Nyong’o, who appears to be wearing Ralph very well these days! This collection just blew me away……always a Ralph fan but this collection and it’s rich fabrics and soft, luxurious colors just seemed more heavenly than I’ve even seen him do for awhile!!!
