Buon Giorno to all……as many of you know that follow my blog I have just returned from almost a month of traveling through different areas of Italy but most of my time, as always, was concentrated in the Tuscan region, based in Florence. My top reason for being there is working with BPP tours, taking this year’s 11 women through Tuscany, with my specialty being the guided shopping tours of Florence and surrounding hill top towns. Year after year of our doing this, one of the highlights of this trip is always our visit to Angela Caputi’s Studio and Boutique in the Oltrarno area of Florence. There, we have open season on drawers full of all of her current selection and also many of her classic pieces such as her branch bracelet that has remained a favorite year after year. Such a fun experience to ravage through the drawers and find just the right pieces to buy and bring home. Now we want to share with you a first look at her many designs at Cotton Club Collection that will be receiving many pieces very shortly. It should be noted that while Angela Caputi is very well-known in the fashion capitals of Italy and France (Florence, Rome, Milan, Paris), her distribution in the U.S. is more limited…….that’s what makes this night of first peaks at Cotton Club so special!
Below are a sampling of the many styles that you can see and purchase for yourself(not all styles available at Cotton Club) or for a special holiday gift for other fashionistas in your life…….
Laura Laureto….Italian designer in Cortona, Italy (special guest appearance)…..
About Laura Laureto: Born in Naples, Italy in 1983 and spent her childhood there. It was there that Laura fell in love with the traditional techniques of craftsmanship which she learned from her mother and aunt. She always wanted to try something new, creative and never conventional, following her own young and revolutionary vision. It was around the time that Laura dreamed of becoming a stylist in 1998 that her family decided to move from Naples to Tuscany’s beautiful hilltop town of Cortona.
Overwhelmed by the beauty that surrounded her, Laura decided to attend the famous fashion school “Piero della Francesca” in Arezzo. Laura met Mauro Cantarelli who helped her develop her design skills. It was in 2016 that Laura began designing her own brand that bears her name. She has a lovely boutique in Cortona in a key location in the center of town at the Piazza della Repubblica, which I have visited. She began by personally visiting her clients by organizing events here in America. She regularly travels to various locations in the states becoming attached to the people and their places…….she has visited so many, including New York, California, Florida and many more! She has made stops to Texas but this is first visit to our town…….Houston!
