Fashion Sneakers…Not Just for the Gym Anymore

Today we’re talking about a trend that has been seen around for a little while now, but this past fashion week it was all over the runways. Fashion sneakers are no longer just for the gym anymore. They are worn out and about, day and night. Monica Abney walks us through some of her favorite styles straight off those runways.

From Couture to Ready to Wear, sporty was the biggest inspiration for shoe wear for spring 2014. Karl Lagerfeld went literal including tennis shoes in his Couture collections. Other designers taking the trend literally were Celine,  DKNY and Marc by Marc Jacobs. But most of them such as Prada, Emilio Pucci and Tommy Hilfiger, took the trend more as inspiration. Don’t think this trend is going away any time soon. Many designers such as Stella McCartney and once again Lagerfeld incorporated the trend into their fall 2014 collection .
